DO YOUR TREES NEED MAINTENANCE?

The SIAQ does not provide consultations. For advice or work on your trees, you need to contact a contractor. Consult our list of members to find a professional near you.

Quebec now has over a hundred ISA certified arborists. You can visit the ISA website (in English) to find a certified arborist nearby.

DID HYDRO-QUÉBEC REFER YOU TO THE SIAQ FOR TREE PRUNING NEAR LOW VOLTAGE ELECTRIC WIRES?

Are the branches of your tree touching the wires of your electrical entrance or low voltage wires? To have it pruned, you need to call on an arboricultural contractor. No need to call us, we do not provide any phone references. Instead, consult the list of our commercial members according to your region. These professionals are best placed to answer your questions.

If your tree or its branches are less than 3 meters from the medium voltage electrical wires (the medium voltage wire is the small bare wire located at the very top of the poles), only specialized contractors can perform this work. These contractors have received special training to work near these electrical wires. Therefore, you must call on an authorized Hydro-Québec contractor. You can find them in our list of members. Make sure to check the box “Work near the electrical network” to get the list of specialized contractors.

Not sure how to distinguish the wires? Visit this section of Hydro-Québec's website to learn how to recognize dangerous wires. Learn more
