If they provided you with their certified arborist number, it could ease your search. Do not hesitate to ask them for it.

DID HYDRO-QUÉBEC REFER YOU TO SIAQ TO PRUNE A TREE NEAR LOW VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL WIRES?

Do your tree branches touch the wires of your electrical entrance or low voltage wires? To have them pruned, you need to call an arboricultural contractor. There is no need to call us, as we do not provide phone references. Instead, consult the list of our commercial members according to your region. These professionals are best suited to answer your questions.

If your tree or its branches are less than 3 meters from medium voltage electrical wires (the medium voltage wire is the small bare wire located at the very top of the poles), only specialized contractors can perform this work. These contractors have received special training to work near these electrical wires. Therefore, you must call an authorized Hydro-Québec contractor. You can find them in our member list. Make sure to check the box “Work near the electrical network” to obtain the list of specialized contractors.

Are you unsure about correctly identifying the wires? Visit this section of the Hydro-Québec website to learn how to recognize hazardous wires. Learn more
